Job Description

As a Digital News Reporter, you will be responsible for covering daily news and fast-moving stories across a variety of beats, from politics and business to culture and tech. You’ll collaborate with editors and producers to write, revise, and publish breaking news in real time for our rapidly growing audience.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
2+ years of experience in a fast-paced newsroom or similar digital media environment.
Strong writing, editing, and headline skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Familiarity with SEO, analytics, and CMS tools (WordPress preferred).
Comfort with interviewing sources and verifying information quickly.

Responsibilities

Report and write multiple breaking news stories per day.
Pitch and develop original story ideas.
Monitor wires, social media, and internal alerts for story leads.
Conduct interviews and fact-check all information for accuracy.
Collaborate with photo, video, and social teams to package content.
Meet tight deadlines while maintaining editorial standards.

Qualifications and Skills

Excellent command of grammar, style, and tone.
A nose for news and a passion for current events.
Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with AP style and newsroom best practices.
Basic photo and video editing is a plus.
